Bachelor of General Studies
Why did you choose Columbia College?
It was highly rated and affordable. It also had a "brick and mortar" campus in my home city of Alameda.
What are your plans for the future?
Truthfully, getting my degree at the age of 60 is enough of an accomplishment! I did it purely for my own satisfaction after taking a short "hiatus" from UC Berkeley in 1973.
What was your favorite course, and why?
My favorite course was, ironically, my last one. Not because it was my final course, but because it was a course directly related to my current field of interest. Social Gerontology 350b was a great class.
Is there anyone you would like to thank?
Besides all of my professors who had to endure my incessant questions and long-winded responses, I would like to personally thank Ms. Leslie Phillips, my Instructor in Social Gerontology 350b. She is a concerned, understanding professional, and Columbia is lucky to have her in their organization.
I would also like to thank my long-suffering wife who kept her cool when I did not, and my 18 year old son who dragged me through Algebra, kicking and screaming.
