Residential Life staff
The Department of Residential Life staff is committed to creating a living-learning environment on campus. A mix of professional and student staff members manages the department. Senior staff members have several years of experience managing residence hall communities.
The director of Residential Life
The director is a professional member of the Student Affairs staff and is responsible for all aspects of the housing programs, including supervision of all Residential Life staff members. The director, Bryan Sappington, is located in the Atkins-Holman Student Commons.
The area coordinators are professional staff members who reside in and supervise the residence halls. The day-to-day operation, programming and functioning of the halls are the responsibility of the area coordinators. They supervise the halls' student staff members and provide guidance to the Residence Hall Association. The area coordinators also counsel individual students and serve as referral agents to other campus offices.
The resident assistants are student staff members who live on the various floors with the students. The resident assistants plan and implement hall activities, enforce rules and regulations, and assist with administrative responsibilities as directed by the area coordinators.
