Student Group: ECO (Environmentally Conscious Organization)

Columbia College works with ECO

ECO originally began as a student-recycling group and now works to keep Columbia College students and the campus community aware of environmental issues. In the residence halls, ECO members help educate residents about the campus recycling program. ECO members also perform community service projects such as stream cleaning on Cleanup Columbia Day, hold local produce potlucks, film nights, and t-shirt swaps, and some members were active in the Missouri Clean Energy ballot issue. One ECO member created the “Green Science Building” petition and solicited approximately 250 signatures.

To find out how you can be a part of ECO and other sustainability activities at Columbia College please contact the Student Affairs Office at 875-7400 in 215 Atkins-Holman Student Commons, or faculty mentors Johanna Denzin and Cheryl Hardy.
