Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges (SOC) Consortium and the SOC Degree Network System

Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges (SOC) was created in 1972 to provide educational opportunities to servicemembers who, because they frequently moved from place to place, had trouble completing college degrees. SOC functions in cooperation with 15 higher education associations, the Department of Defense, and Active and Reserve Components of the Military Services to expand and improve voluntary postsecondary education opportunities for servicemembers worldwide.

    Are You Eligible?

    SOC Eligibility

SOC benefits are extended to students that are serving in the military while attending Columbia College, as well as the servicemember's spouse and dependent children.

SOC eligibility begins the moment the student begins taking a course with Columbia College and does not end until the student completes a bachelor’s degree.  SOC benefits are not extended to students pursuing a Master’s degree.
