DAYSTAR Program

Our DAYSTAR program is designed for Day Campus students who are new freshmen. (Freshman-level transfer students with only liberal arts and sciences college credit also may apply.) A separate DAYSTAR application is required for consideration for admittance and applicants must take part in Scholarship Day.

DAYSTAR begins the summer immediately following high school graduation and continues to meet as a cohort each summer until the completion of the Master's of Arts in Teaching degree.

DAYSTAR is a four-year+ program that allows students to earn a bachelor's of arts in a content area (such as biology, math, history, etc.), plus a Master's of Arts in Teaching (MAT) degree.

Students graduating from this program will be eligible to be recommended for certification to teach in Missouri at any of the certification levels listed below:

Elementary education (grades 1-6)

 Elementary education (grades 1-6) 

Middle school education (grades 5-9)

Secondary education (grades 9-12)

K-12 Certificates

Art education (grades K-12)

Music education (grades K-12

Special education (grades K-12) 

Since DAYSTAR is an accelerated program, students should work closely with their Education advisor.
